This multifaceted wine is ideal as an accessible point into the glorious arena of Tuscan wines thanks to the crafting of the blend

Order Quantity: Bottle (75cl)

Located in the south east of the Montalcino region close to the beautiful medieval village of Castelnuovo dell’Abate in the Tuscan hills, the estate of Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona can trace its routes back to the 17th century.   Today the 220 hectare estate is run by his children, Paolo and Lucia. Paolo’s children Alex and Ester are also now involved in the business. In total, 53ha are devoted to Sangiovese Grosso, producing the highly acclaimed Brunello di Montalcino, with the rest dedicated to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

Grape Varieties: Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon

Production: The Sangiovese Grosso into this IGT comes from the youngest plots close to the vineyards dedicated to the production of Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. Located in soil of medium grain with good levels of marl, dating from the Eocene period at an altitude that ranges from 240 to 360 metres above sea level. This multifaceted wine is suited to day to day drinking, easily matched with all foods, full bodied thanks to the blend of the grapes used. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats with temperature controlled through cooling jackets and refining occurs in concrete vats.

Tasting Note: Lightly herbal and enriched by hints of spices. This wine is ready for drinking, full bodied, and quite soft and
well balanced.
