Nice focused blackberry, bramble, with dark chocolate and judicious toast coming in on the finish. Well-built structure. Concentrated and firm tannins, give the wine a great personality. This wine is ideal with wild or red meats, spicy pastas and fine fermented cheeses or Roquefort.
Established in 1890 by Pascual Toso from Piemonte in Italy, this is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Argentina. Owning more than 400 hectares at Las Barrancas within the Mendoza River highland, this dry region with warm summers, cold winters, and excellent sunlight levels create the perfect environment for development of flavour. All fruit is handpicked at optimum ripeness, with the grapes for the Reserve wines coming from vines over 40-year-old, with only natural yeasts used.
Toso was awarded IWSC Argentinean Wine Producer of the Year in 2007, as well as winning numerous international wine show medals every year.
