Aromas of ripe fruit, plums, and blackberries, a touch of liquorice and peppery spice developing in the background.
The powerful palate is full of rich dark fruits and soft, rounded tannin makes for a long, and luscious wine with great texture. On the finish, there's spicy notes, fine oak and balsamic hints,
Sourced from a selection of old vine plots, +30 years old from Rioja Alta. All very low yields. Hand harvested plot by plot. Alcoholic fermentation and long skin maceration in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperatures. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks for a percentage and mostly in new oak barrels.
Total barrel age of 14 months in new French and American oak barrels, medium toasted, which provides a smooth complexity and tannins. A minimum of 12 months in bottle before release.
