Bodega Gotica are a family business that has been producing grapes for several generations in the municipality of Rueda.
A charming little wine made from 100% Old Vine Tempranillo showing off the grace, power and intensity of this grape variety more renown for Rioja. This is an ‘eye-opening’ wine as it is truly delicious and the old vines of the Tempranillo shine through with the depth and complexity, all a very pleasant surprise!
Winemaking: Cold maceration for 48 hours to get freshness in the power of aromas reminiscent of blue flowers and black berries such as sloe. Followed by an alcoholic fermentation for 10 days with the skins at 25ªC which extracts complexity and fleshy tannins. Malolactic fermentation followed in barrel with a further 3-4 months aging in barrel.
Tasting note: Layers and layers of blackberry fruit, plums, hints of spice all surrounded by structured yet beautifully rounded tannins, makes you just keep going back for more.
