Description
Complex nose with notes of ripe blackberry and prunes with a hint of cocoa. Medium-bodied with ripe tannins and note of blackcurrant and liquorice.
Crès Ricards was created in 1960 as is gifted with exceptional terroir on the renown Terrasses du Larzac appellation on the slopes of the Cévennes. The Domaine was taken on by Jean Claude Mas in 2010 and has moved from strength to strength ever since.
Winemaking Vinification Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel VATS at 26/28°C.
Ageing : 20% of the wine is aged in oak barrels for 5 months. The type of oak is American – 1/3 new oak, 1/3 first use and 1/3 second use – this is in order to impact sublte oak flavours to the wine whilst retaining a lot of fruit.
Food pairing : Serve at 16°C with red and grilled meat, soft or strong cheeses.
